I really enjoyed this episode! Thanks so much for taking on this topic together. I wanted to add to some of Catherine's tips regarding free resources in Canada, and Ontario. There is a free program called Wellness Together Canada funded by the federal government - on the website there are several support resources for the public ranging from psychoeducation, self-assessments, self help, connections with peers networks, and connections to solution-focused talk therapy. https://www.wellnesstogether.ca/en-ca/
Also, for an Ontario-centric resource: Over the past few years, the provincial government has been rolling out what's called Ontario Structured Psychotherapy (OSP), which is essentially publicly funded cognitive behavioural therapy and CBT-based resources and treatment for those with depression, anxiety and anxiety-related disorders. It started in 4 regions in the province and over the past several months is active across the province. It includes access to BounceBack (which Dr. Catherine mentioned) but also access to individual or group CBT, and I believe soon access to internet-based CBT (to replace the free iCBT that was available during the pandemic). Here's a link to the broad details and service providers in Ontario: https://www.ontariohealth.ca/getting-health-care/mental-health-addictions/depression-anxiety-ontario-structured-psychotherapy. So much more is needed but I thought it would be helpful to share these things for your listeners as well. Thanks so much for all that you both do!
