Health and Wellness Goals for 2025: Starting the Year Strong
2025 is Our Year to Set a New Standard for Health and Wellness
As the new year approaches, many of us take a moment to reflect on the past year and set intentions for the year ahead. For me, this reflection has highlighted an area I need to focus on: strength. As I’ve discussed many times, maintaining and increasing muscle mass is critical, not just for fitness but for overall health and resilience. The impacts of frailty are devastating, and prioritizing strength can help so many other aspects of life fall into place.
Here are my top health and wellness goals for 2025, and I encourage you to set some of your own as well!
1. Lift Heavier and Get Stronger
Strength training is at the top of my list. Over the past year, I’ve noticed a decline in my strength, and I’ve been hesitant to push heavier weights out of concern for injuries. While stabilization has been my focus, it’s now time to push the envelope and lift heavier in 2025. Building strength is not just about physical gains—it’s about improving overall functionality and combating the effects of aging.
2. Optimize My Nutrition
When it comes to nutrition, I think I’m doing well, but there’s always room for improvement. Specifically, I’m exploring ways to increase my protein intake. For instance, I’m considering starting my mornings with a protein shake instead of fasting, to ensure I’m fueling my body for the day ahead. Additionally, I’m committing to taking creatine daily. 3. Build a Gratitude Practice
