I hear many professionals saying they are tired and irritated by the word ‘burnout’, yet they are tired and unmotivated in the areas that used to bring them joy. 🦋
Many will say there are not enough hours in the day, and more pressing work-related issues have caused them to let go of the activities that inspire and challenge them in life.
It is not that they cannot handle the work; they do not have the rest and the rejuvenation in the things that allow them to thrive. 🦋
So often, ‘burnout’ is caused by:
🔥 Lack of control or influence over things, not the work itself.
🔥 Bureaucratic environments that don’t align with Personal Values
🔥 Situations where others temper your enthusiasm and shut down your innovative ideas.
🔥 Systems that use your ideas without credit and take away your SHINE.
🔥 Feeling you must not SHINE, as it might cast a shadow on someone else.
